Hey George, you're english is better than mine :P, no need to apologise :)

In terms of effects for lead you get the similar sound by using a simple overdrive or lighter distortion, with a small amount of dotted eighth delay mixed in. Enough delay to give it a little feedback, but not enough to overpower the playing. To get closer to the sound use your bridge pickup, or if you happen to have a gretsch, use that :)
