Here's We Are Free by Matt Redman

By Jake

This song is in the key of Bb

Intro/Main Riff
Here’s a few ways of playing the main riff, I used each one at different parts of the song.

Bb Dm
e|----------------------------------|
B|----------------------------6--6--|
G|-----------5--5---5h7-7---7--7----|
D|---8-8---8--8---------------------|
|
| Gm Eb
e|----------------------------------|
B|---6h8-8---8-6---6----------------|
G|-------------------7-----7--5-----|
D|----------------------------------|

Bb Dm
e|-------------------------|
B|-------------------------|
G|--15-------14-----10-----|
D|-------------------------|
A|--13—x8----12—x6--8—x2---|
E|-------------------------|
|
| Gm Eb
e|----------------------------|
B|-----------15------13-------|
G|--12------------------------|
D|-----------12—x4---10—x4----|
A|--10—x8---------------------|
E|----------------------------|

Verse

Here I held the first Bb, then for the second half picked through each chord with a heavy .8th Delay

Chords – Bb F(sus) Gm Eb Cm

Chorus

Chords – Bb F Gm Eb

e---------------------------------------------|
B--11--11---13--11-------------11-------------|
G----10-------10--10----x5-----10-------------|
Heavy delay here

Bridge

Chords – Eb Bb x2 Cm Eb [To Chorus]

On the first Eb I used a fast tremolo effect
On the second Eb again use a .8th delay and palm mute
e|--------------------------|
B|--8-8-8-8---10-10-10-10---|
G|---8-8-8-8----8--8--8--8--|
D|--------------------------|
|
|
e|----------------------------------------------|
B|11-11-11-11---11s13-13-13-13-13-13-13-13-13/--|
G|--8--8--8--8----------------------------------|
D|----------------------------------------------|

Hey man,

first of all, congratz on the content and the youtube vids, great content!

I actually just started a guitar lesson blog myself, been thinking about it for a while it seemed like a good way to help out any guitarist in need, plus it helps myself out as well, gotta know what your teaching right :P

But I'm totally new to this, posted my fist article a few minutes ago and...I don't really know what to do now :P, your the first blog I subscribed to.

Could you or anyone else reading this perhaps share a tip or two?

thx and again, cool stuff

Other than the delay, what other effects are you using for this? An overdrive or distortion pedal? And do you change effects between the power chords and the delay picking part of the song? It sounds cleaner when you get to the delay part of the song.

Hey awesome! :) But is there an easier way to play the chords? I suck at bar chords and wondered is there an easier way to learn the chords? Thanks
