Gotta Give Him the Glory (Bass)

By Bass Levite

This song is the longest praise song I've ever heard! Also from Christian City Church Oxford Falls, it's over 12 minutes of praising God! This song is very unique in that there's no verse and bridge, and has three different choruses instead. The tempo and key changes as well throughout. About 3/4 of the way through the song, the musicians broke out into solos, drums, then bass, then lead, vocals and then piano. The bass solo slapping is too hard for me, so I have not included it in this video. Maybe one day when I can slap properly, I'll do a video on it.

Part 1: "Gotta give him, gotta give him..."

The open string E should be slapped, and the 12th fret D note should be popped, but I didn't.

Part 3: "And we dance..."

If you don't have a 5 string bass, you can play an open E for the low D instead... it's just a one touch variation. The first part is the same throughout the song, but there are variations in the second half of the riff.
