Bending is straightforward: bend the string with (preferably) two or three fingers, a few frets to the left of the note you want to sound out, and let the guitar scream the note out.
The only thing you need to take note of is to hit the correct note, as the following example shows:
Suppose the song requires you to play:
B-10b12r10-8-10-8---8-- (x2)
G-----------------9----
Or
E-------10--------------------------
B-10b12---12r10-8-10b12r10-8-10-8-8-
Bending from the tenth fret, to obtain the note on the 12th fret of the B string, is necessary. To practice, I played 'Mary Had a Little Lamb':
B-12-10-8-10-12-12-12-|
B-10b12r10-8-10-10b12-10b12-10b12-|
You can, of course, cook up other melodies to practice your bends.
