By Kenny & Daryl
Here's the intro to Stars by Switchfoot. Lots of activity in the lower notes.. use drop D tuning as well. The 2nd part is a little like a musical tongue twister.

so glad you are starting on Switchfoot!
love that song...
thanks so much!
hey i used to listen switchfoot but(no offense to all their fans out there) what really does their music have to do with God i mean the only themes they project through their music are social problems
i think their lyrics are very subtly related to God. and even if you can't tell how God is in their lyrics the social problems they talk about and the questions they ask lead us to think about the human condition and the meaning of life, which leads us to think about why we're here, who we are, all thing that lead to questions about God and whether he exists or not.
hey..can you put tutorials for more switchfoot songs like Awakening *wink wink*
They are a really good band
i think Switchfoot like Desiree said make there lyrics closely related to God. they are more of a mainstream band so they don't want to flat out pound the mainstream with praise the lord! and other stuff like that. they do it subtly so that non-Christians listen and aren't overwhelmed with Christianity all at once. you can say that Switchfoot is kind of like a bridge between mainstream and Christian music.
youu rock!!!
Yeah, I agree Swichfoot does have meaning you know. In Beautiful Letdown, the letdown is "us" in front of God.
