This song is challenging because the intro and verse requires really quick alternate picking of harmonics. The written instructions in the tabs can get a little messy, pls clarify with me if you can't understand.
By the way, you will need tune your guitar down by half a step (one fret) to play this. I raised the key in the background music in the video below to avoid retuning my guitar.
I realised that for my videos, my fingers are often covered up by one another, or sometimes it looks like I'm pressing the fretboard with too many fingers. This occurs because the fingers should be kept close to the fretboard to minimise movement.
Tabs
Intro-Verse
- Use harmonics for all the notes.
- The first 7 notes are to be quickly alternate picked 4 times each (like 'An Introduction').

- Here, use harmonics only for the first 6 notes.

- The other notes are to be plucked normally, and quickly alternate picked twice each.

I think your tab From God Above is in a different key than what I'm hearing when I listen to the song.
Yep, as mentioned in the post,
"you will need tune your guitar down by half a step (one fret) to play this. I raised the key in the background music in the video below to avoid retuning my guitar".
on the intro are you strumming any other notes besides that 7 on the b string? muting some other string?
Nope, its just the 7th fret on the b string.
that doesn't sound right....its supposed to be an F!! try playing capo 1 and play harmonics 12 on e, 7 on B and 7 on E...relative to capo!!!!!...GOd bless!!!
Hello kenny this part to that the alone one of guitar listens you can write the tabs or notes this only of guitar that it is listened when they sing the chorus: from god above....
The final part
God blesses you
Hi kenny can you pliss tab this song on the normal tuning?
because i really need it because its for church.
Oh and you forgot to tab the part when they sing:"you came from God above..." and something at the last verse.
thanks!
GOD BLESS!
Actually I don't think you can do it in normal tuning.
what do you mean?
i dont know how to do the intro, chorus and last verse thats all i need help on.
You have to tune the guitar down half a step to do the harmonics on the song, so you can't use the usual EADGBE tuning.
For the other parts you can just use power chords..
can u tab wad u did for the chorus please? ... sounds very nice
This tab is in a higher right?!! What if you capo it in normal tuning could you still get the harmonics kinda like this guy said:

The original song is played lower than in the video i made, so you would have to retune your guitar since capo-ing causes the pitch to go up while you need it to be lower.
Another thing you could try is to put the capo on the 1st fret, and use the 5th fret harmonics on the E, A, and D strings.
what's the electric part you added to this vid post at the very end? it sounds awesome!
Actually for the people who asked to change the tab to Standard Tuning...You can play exactly Like Kenny played...Just change the key of the song...So Guitar stays in Standard Tuning and the other instruments change their keys to make everything fit nicely....Basically everything plays a half step Higher and guitar doesn't have to be downtuned... Problem solved i Hope?
Or you could downtune your guitar by a halfstep and play Crowder songs :D
But if you're playing other songs, throw a capo on the 1st fret. Retune your guitar later..but you dont really have to.
Any tips on stumming out the x8 stuff in the second part of the Bridge, some reason it sounds off when I do it. thanks man
if it helps, chislett is actually playing in standard tuning but hes using one of his pedals to change the pitch to a half-step down...only the acoustics are using the capos on the first fret...btw.awesome tab man
haha.i was the anonymous who just postd above this one.i meant to say that hes using a different guitar thats tuned a half step down XD..harhar.yeah...=P
kk.its the guy who posted above again XD...i just wanted to add that kenny specifically said that hes playing in a higher key...and then like 3 ppl mentioned that its not in the rite key...kenny,i must say that you must be a man of great patience to not have exploded yet XD...
Hello i don't how to play harmonics, can post something about it?
i have a UNITED We Stand album... and the tone isn't half-step down than the music videos.... confusing..
hey can u put the tabs for what u play at the end its really nice. thanks
try playing every note a fret lower meaning that if it says 7 play 6 instead... try it
in the brige MGC uses a slide don't know how though soz
good tab by the way kenny
and yes you tune your guitar down half a step to D#G#C#F#A#D# using a cromatic tuner helps or play everything down one fret or you could change the key
Couldn't you just play it a fret lower rather than retuning it and just change the chords you play???
Kenny!!!
Could you tab the solo on the outro of the youtube vid?
It sounds great. is it the original one?
Should start with the 12th fret on B and an banding? Please
DUDE!! YOU HAVE TO TAB OUT THE SOLO AT THE END!! PLEASE!!
haha godbless
Well actually... i dont think they tune their guitar down. IN fact they capo the guitar to do the harmonics..
i think rythm plays the intro with these octaves
C# G# F# B
Normal tuning intro chords are:
F#m D B E
All it takes is to drop the tab by 1 fret, then it sounds fine for me.
e------------------------------------
B------------------------------------
G------------------------------------
D--10-10-------------------8-8----
A---8--8---11-11---8-8---6-6----
E------------9--9----6-6-----------
Here is the riff that goes in the intro. (Tabbed in standard)

hi! i'm jed. and i play the lead guitar in our church. based on the previous posts, you dropped the tuning of your guitar by one fret, is that right? so if my guitar's on it's standard tuning, i have to move the tabs that you made by one fret up?
hey kenny, can you transpose ur tab in the standard tune??disregard the harmonics....???pls...
GBU
how do you pkay the other guitar?? I only know it in acoustic =/
I'm really surprised that the way I play it hasn't been discussed yet.
I play it accurate to the song, without changing the key or changing your guitar tuning.
For the intro; strum your 13th fret on the high e string. Thats your first note, the other 2 are harmonics. I found them nearby at
1) G string between the 9th and 10th fret.
2) Same place but on the B string. (between 9th and 10th fret)
It's a little tricky to hit, but definitely possible. It may be kinda weird too when you play it alone, but if you play it with the song you will see it sounds the exact same. My guitar is very low gain, so harmonics are kinda hard to catch.
hey man i wanted to know what the notes for the chorus were thanks god bless
