The Power of Your Name

Here's The Power of Your Name by Lincoln Brewster. I LOVE THIS SONG and I highly recommend it being part of your church's worship setlist.

Anyway, as with every Brewster song, it can be hard not only to play the notes, but capture the 'feel' of his playing - I took 10 takes just to get it decently filmed on video. Using single coils help though, and I've used the middle pickup on my guitar throughout the song, except for the chorus onwards where I switched to the bridge for more ommph.

The last part of this line can be a 'finger-twister'. Follow the video to get a good fingering, but essentially use your first finger to fret the last chord.

Yes! Thanks for tabbing this out Kenny, I love this song. If you get a chance though, can you tab out the intro? I've seen those videos you linked to countless times and tried to tab it out, but I can't get more than halfway. I can send you what I've done so far if you'd like.

Jesse & others i saw those other youtube videos of the intro as well...im curious Dilpil doesn't use a capo to play the rest of the song, which mean LB prolly doesn't either, however this is good sounding version of the intro. Just makes me wonder if it can be played without the capo?

oops i meant to say that kenny doesn't play the rest of the song with a capo.

sorry kenny...sorry dilpil

Just like pretty much anything that can be played with a capo it can be played without one, it is just probably more difficult.

Just lower the frets by 2 for each number. The only thing you will have to figure out the actual not for are the open strings. I would do it for you now but its been a long time since guitar class so I can never remember the actual note names, just do it by ear though. It's easy to figure out what note sounds the same as another note, just try all the nearby notes in the same scale.
