Let the Praises Ring (Lincoln Brewster)

Lincoln Brewster is one talented guitarist, worshiper leader, and singer, and although his guitar parts are really nice, they are very difficult to play and figure out. I was hoping no one would request for any of his songs, but someone did, so here it is:

The solo was really difficult to play - I spent about an hour figuring it out, and practicing it, even up to a stage where i was panting very slightly from the exertion. As they say, no pain, no gain!

Tabs
Intro:
Play the following power chords (on the 3rd, 4th, & 5th thickest strings), without the middle note:
E E F# G# G# D#
D# E F# E
E E F# G# B F#
A G# E

Instrumental:
As mentioned earlier, this instrumental is really tough! I did hammer-ons and pull-offs for most of the solo, except for the last part where the notes are played really fast. Using hammer-ons and pull-offs extensively in this manner means that you don't have to pick, but your left hand needs to avoid touching the other strings. Thus, the note sounds out because your left hand hits on the fret with adequate force. Use your right hand to mute the non-E strings too.

Almost everything's on the uppermost E string, so I'll exclude the lines representing the other strings.

Hey. Great site. I'm gonna bookmark it for sure. Been playing guitar for a long time. I had this solo figured out note-wise, but I was missing something. After watching you play it, I realized I was missing the pull off to the open E everytime. Amazing. Now I just have to work on speeding it up. Gotta play this at church on Sunday. ;)

I'm playing this song next week at church too, and I must say that the instrumental is fairly challenging, still not confident enough to play it live yet, but with more practice i should be able to.

I suppose you must be fairly good, having played for a long time, are you interested in contributing tabs/lessons to the blog?

This is a great song. I play rhythm electric (we have two electrics in our band) and can't seem to figure out the triplet thing going on in the background during the verses.

Any ideas!

Thanks,
Dale

Hey Kenny, excellent site, nice work man, great song too, i was wondering, do you think you could do a lesson Lincoln Brewster's "All to You"?

Hey Kenny,
I can hit every note on the solo, but I can't get it up to speed. Do you have any advice?

Happens to many ppl... use a metronome and work it up to speed.. be patient too as it may take days or weeks or even months..
